By Julius Tuwei Deputy President William Ruto has suffered a huge blow after one of his key pointmen in Western Kenya, Sirisia Member of Parliament John Walukhe allegedly ditched the UDA party and rejoined the ruling Jubilee Party. This after the lawmaker was allegedly spotted at Jubilee headquarters in Pangani on Friday morning, March 18, 2022. Reports further indicate that Walukhe was among the leaders who were welcomed into the party alongside musician Kevin Bahati who is eyeing the Mathare parliamentary seat. A section of Kenyans is claiming that Walukhe ditched UDA to escape the wrath of EACC over his pending cases. The legislator came to the limelight after he was linked to maize scandals that forced him to spend time in prison and later be released on bond. The lawmaker has followed in the footsteps of former UDA National Treasurer Omingo Magara who resigned from the party and joined Jubilee. Magara is eyeing the Kisii County gubernatorial seat. Since rebranding UDA party has hit the ground running in a bod to recruit and register members. The party has suffered a major blow blow after a majority of its members decamped to join UDA and other parties. Last week, former Senate Majority Whip and Kiambu County Senator Kimani Wamatangi officially left Jubilee for UDA. He was welcomed to the party by DP Ruto during a rally in Thika.
