CS Kuria unveils 10 point agenda 'for government to work for people'

By Peter Ochieng

Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has unveiled a 10 point agenda aimed at making the government to work for the people.

Kuria, incharge of public service, performance and delivery management docket was among the CSs transferred during President William Ruto's recent cabinet reshuffle.

He was plucked out of the trade and investment ministry.

The CS's 10 point agenda include making the government accountable to the people.

"We will make the government accountable to the people through Wajibika Town Hall forums that we will hold with all the ministries in all the counties," he said.

The vocal CS seeks to roll out a digital tool to track performance contracts, besides implementing a digital tool for members of the public to report cases of inefficient public servants.

"We will roll out our digital tool for tracking performance contracts, project delivery and execution, and individual staff performance for all the 90, 000 plus public servants while sharing the results with the public monthly."

"We will implement a digital ombudsman tool to be known as Pasha for the public to report all cases of denial of or poor service by national and county government institutions," he added, in a statement shared online.

Kuria says under his watch, the National Youth Service (NYS) will be transformed into an institution to give hope to the youth of this country.

He says his intention is to modernise the public service by replacing retiring servants with young Kenyans.

"We will modernise the public service by replacing retiring public servants with young Kenyans while ensuring an 80:20 ratio between technical staff and support staff," he added.

The other agendas border in making Kenya a leader in leadership issues, giving every Kenyan an opportunity to work for the government, expand the Huduma Centre network to all corners of the country, reform staff corporations and maximise government efficiency and effectiveness.
