Embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has pleaded for forgiveness from President William Ruto for any sensitive utterances he made.
"I want to say to my brother President William Ruto if, in our zeal to work, I have wronged you, please find it in your heart to forgive me. If my spouse, in her duties with the boychild, has wronged you in any way, please find it in your heart to forgive her," Gachagua pleaded.
This comes as a Looming Impeachment against the DP proceeds to parliamentary slot after days of Public participation.
Gachagua said this at a Sunday service with his family at the National Prayer Altar located at his official Residence, Karen.
The altar was built by President William Ruto in 2019 while serving as the country’s second in command at a time when he was facing a political onslaught from his then boss Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ruto used the altar to hold prayers and often retreated to there for special prayers with his family and allies at the height of his fallout with Uhuru.
Gachagua also seeked forgiveness from MPs who have tabled his impeachment in parliament and Kenyans at large.
"Probably you find that in appreciating our people and the support they gave the president and I, probably our utterances made you feel uncomfortable, we did not mean bad, we were appreciating the people who voted for us, if you feel that we rubbed you the wrong way, please find it in your heart to forgive me," he further pleaded.
MPs have accused Gachagua of, among others, disrespecting his boss the president, and unlawfully amassing wealth since come to office.
Gachagua denies any wrongdoing, saying it is a political witch hunt because of supporting his Mt. Kenya backyard.
Kenyans have voiced out their divergent views on rhe Impeachment with other supporting his onslaught while other demand that should he go down then President William Ruto should go down along with him.
