Nyong'o embarks on new initiative to foster dialogue

Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has embarked on a new initiative aimed at giving locals a chance to share ideas on development projects and programs.

Adddresing residents during Madaraka Day celebrations at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Sports Complex, Kisumu City Manager Abala Wanga said the new initiative has been dubbed 'Huduma Mashinani.'

Wanga who read the governor's speech said through the initiative, residents will feel part and parcel of Nyong'o's administration.

"It will be purely a dialogue driven exercise," he said.

He said the Huduma Mashinani exercise will be launched in Muhoroni Sub County, on 5th June, 2023.

Speaking at the same event, Shem Ochuodho, youth representative urged leaders at the national and county levels to partner with youth, in uplifting living standards of all Kenyans.

"We are ready to work together as a people and support the government of the day," he noted.

He urged Members of Parliament (MPs) to shoot down the Finance Bill, 2023.

Ochuodho said the Bill contains punitive tax proposals, which if passed will hurt Kenyan much more, economically.

The Bill proposes among others, the controversial 3% housing levy.
