Police officers at Olulunga Trading Center, Narok South Sub County are pursuing two thieves who narrowly escaped police arrest after two of their colleagues were arrested for having stolen goods.
Narok South Sub County Police Commander Isaac Omale said the gang was nabbed with utensils, clothes, and food items believed to have been stolen from the members of the public.
“We have found several goods like household commodities, food, clothing, and electronics. The goods are being held at the Olulunga police station awaiting identification,” he said.
He said they arrested two thieves and two narrowly escaped police arrest promising to leave no stone unturned until the other two are nabbed.
The police commander urged tenants in the area to keep all records and information of anyone looking for occupation at the area to make it easy to trace those who steal from their fellow tenants to curb criminal cases.
“It’s astonishing that the stolen goods were found in rental houses owned by the chairman of the business community here in Olulunga, who did not even know the names of his tenants. I request all landlords to have proper details of their tenants,” he advised.
Omale also added that six people have come out to identify ownership of stolen goods that are in the police station calling the public to keep turning up to identify their goods.
“Six people have identified their goods, but we are still calling on more members of the public to volunteer to identify the items,” said the police boss.
