The Nairobi Review by McCreadie Andias,
In a move in line with his recent call for carpooling. Azimio leader Raila Odinga earlier this morning boarded a Public Service vehicle (PSV) heading to work in Nairobi.
In a video. The Opposition boss was seen walking for a few meters to a matatu station where he engaged a few supporters before boarding a Matatu plying the Ngong-Nairobi route.
"Embracing the convenience and camaraderie of public transport heading to work this morning," Raila captioned on a video in his social media handles.
Inside the matatu, Raila engaged some of the passengers on board decrying the high cost of fuel.
Odinga's move seems to be heeding to his call on 27th June, Where he asked Kenyans to embrace measures such as carpooling in order to deny the government enough Revenue from the increased VAT on fuel products.
“Let us deny Ruto the fuel tax by limiting consumption of petrol and diesel. One way to do this is to carpool. Let us arrange to make regular journeys in a single vehicle whenever possible; give each other a ride, cut down on non-essential travel and walk instead of driving whenever possible,” Odinga said.
Odinga called for Kenyans to opt for Walking to work if possible, offer each other rides to work or use other necessary means of transport that would compromise the government's move on hiking fuel prices.
