UDA Party’s Mvita parliamentary aspirant Ali Mwatsau on Tuesday night cheated death after he was attacked by unknown assailants and his vehicle sprayed with 22 bullets.
Reports indicate that Mwatsau was attacked at Tudor area while on his way home from a prayer meeting.
The gunmen reportedly used two vehicles during the attack and disappeared from the scene immediately after spraying the bullets.
Luckily, Mwatsau was rescued by a tuk tuk driver who ferried him to a medical facility where he was admitted immediately.

The shooting has caused anxiety in the area with many raising questions on the status of their security, considering that Mwatsau was attacked less than two kilometres from Makupa police station.
Meanwhile, detectives investigating the matter visited the scene and took exhibits they intend to use to track down those behind the daring attack.
Mwatsau’s vehicle was towed down to the police station to aid with investigations into the shooting.
Mwatsau is keen to secure the Mvita parliamentary seat and replace current MP Abdulswamad Nassir who has expressed in the Mombasa Gubernatorial seat on an ODM ticket.
