NYS announces over 100 job opportunities: How to apply

The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced 108 job opportunities for NYS graduates. Successful applicants, according to the advert will work for NYS’s client, a reputable consulting firm serving local and regional enterprises.

“These graduates will be offered fixed-term contracts to work with an avocado export and avocado oil production firm based in Nairobi region and its environs, with potential opportunities for relocation to other parts of Kenya and East African countries in the future,” the advert reads in part.

The firm needs oil production supervisors, agronomists, ripening-in charges, quality controllers, ripening-in charge assistants, field/procumbent assistants and sorting clerks.

Other positions are oil machine operators, weighbridge clerks, electricians, forklift operators and boiler operators.

Duties and responsibilities for quality controllers for instance, include supervise and guarantee adherence to quality control measures for avocados during the packaging process intended for export, and monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the production of avocado oil.

Successful applicants will also manage the quality assurance protocols related to avocados from the initial stages to final packaging, ensure that all quality control procedures are followed meticulously during the export preparation of avocados and oversee the implementation of quality compliance measures in the production processes of avocado oil.

Qualifications and requirements include certificate in food science, quality assurance, analytical chemistry, microbiology, or a related field is preferred, at least 2 year’s relevant experience as a quality controller in a similar role and a strong analytical background and proficiency in ISO, HACCP, OSHA and GMP.
