Tusker beat Ulinzi Stars to book Mozzart Bet Cup final

Tusker FC finally has a place in the 2022/2023 FKF Mozzart Bet Cup final.

The Brewers beat Ulinzi Stars 1-0 at the Nyayo national stadium in the first semi final, with Eric Otieno's last grasp header proving the difference between the two sides.

Otieno scored from a Levin Joseph cross towards the end of the second half, denying Ulinzi proper time to regroup and try to find an equalizer.

Ulinzi coach Benard Mwalala said it was a game of few chances.

"Congradulations to Tusker. It was a game of few chances. Tusker took theirs," he said.

He declined to comment on social media reports that the Tusker match was the last for him in the Ulinzi Stars dugout.

"Let us see what the week will bring," said Mwalala.

His opposite number Robert 'the Lion' Matano said he drilled his players to win the game.

"Our game plan was all about winning the game today. I had faith that we would win. We want to win the title," said the Lion.

The Brewers will play the winner of the second semi final tie, pitying AFC Leopards against Kakamega Homeboyz, know the final.

The 'Ingo derby' is currently underway at the Nyayo national stadium.

The winner will represent the country in the CAF Confederations Cup competition next season.
