President Ruto jets to Rome for Italy - Africa summit

President William Ruto has on Sunday morning jetted to Rome, Italy where he is expected to attend the Italy - Africa summit who's theme is "A bridge for common growth".
An official press statement from state house spokesperson Hussein Mohammed confirmed that Ruto will join over 20 African Heads of State in the summit to discuss trade, energy, security, economic and infrastructure relations as well as combating human trafficking and terrorism.
Ruto will also be attending in capacity as the chair of the committee of the African Heads of State and Government on climate change (CAHOSCC) where he will adress the summit on energy security.
The head of State is also scheduled to engage in Bilateral talks with Italian President Sergio Mattarella who made an official visit to the country last year.
The talks will revise the Bilateral agreements reached between the two leaders including agreements between President William Ruto and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meroni during the sidelines of the 75th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York last year.
Talks will also explore avenues to expedite the implementation of joint projects and programmes in climate conservation, energy, health, education, climate, culture and water.
During the visit, Ruto will discuss Kenyas multilateral relations with officials from major global players in the multinational systems including the world Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European intergovernmental body EU whose President Ursula Von Der Leyen visited the country last year.
Furthermore, The president will adress Kenya's contribution to the collective achievement of regional peace in the African continent especially in DRC, South Sudan and Sudan.
