CS Kindiki calls for unity and dedication

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has called for national unity and a collective effort in fostering the development and security of Kenya, emphasizing the need to transcend divisions based on race, religion, or social rank. 

Speaking in Gathara, Kinangop Constituency in Nyandarua County, on Monday, September 23, 2024, Kindiki highlighted the importance of working together for the betterment of all citizens, urging Kenyans to focus on nation-building rather than political differences.

"Let us collaborate irrespective of status, color, or religion. Let us work for the citizens with dedication and focus on the unity of our Kenyan nation,” Kindiki said. 

He emphasized that if the country maintains its focus on unity, it will pave the way for a harmonious future without divisions. 

“If we continue with unity, we will have one Kenya without divisions. "We are one people, one nation, and one flag," he continued.

Kindiki’s speech comes at a time when Kenya continues to navigate various challenges, including political tensions and economic pressures. 

His call for unity resonates with the ongoing efforts by the government to stabilize the nation and ensure that security and development initiatives reach all corners of the country.

The Interior Cabinet Secretary also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, stressing that his role is primarily focused on safeguarding the well-being of Kenyans. 

"My job is to simply make sure that every citizen is safe and secure and that all necessary national government operations are being carried out. Everything else is incidental," Kindiki said.

While acknowledging the importance of politics in the democratic process, Kindiki urged citizens to remain patient, noting that the appropriate time for political engagement will come.

 He suggested that the current focus should be on national development rather than political campaigns or divisions, saying, "Time for politics will come and you, the citizens, will have an opportunity to make a decision." 

Kindiki's address highlights the government's commitment to ensuring that peace and development remain central to its agenda, especially in the lead-up to future political transitions.
