Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai has promised to support the construction of new madrasa classes and renovate existing structures at the mosque.

Speaking when he joined Muslim faithful at the Lokichoggio Jamia Mosque, the Governor directed administrators in the area to ensure that there was a food distribution point to cater for Muslims.

He assured Muslim residents that his administration will ensure they receive services like other residents.

Governor Lomorukai has been joining Muslims during Ramadhan season, while promising to attend the Idd il Fitr celebrations.

"I love all people and serve all regardless of race, religion, or tribe to follow the support I received from across Turkana County. Muslims in Turkana are Kenyans like any other and have the right to enjoy all services, rights, and privileges enjoyed by other Kenyans. You have the right to be served by the County Government. This is not a privilege, but a right guaranteed by the Constitution of Kenya," he said.

The Imams of the mosque, Juma Nyae and Sheikh Hassan thanked the Governor for finding time to join Muslims for Ramadan and the food donations. They also asked Muslims to pray for the Governor and the county leadership.

Governor Lomorukai announced that relief distribution in Lokichoggio ward would begin the following day, following the delivery of relief food procured by the County Government.

He promised that all targeted residents in the distribution would receive the relief food.

He announced that the county would soon recruit Sub-County and Deputy Sub-County Administrators for the newly formed Lokichoggio Sub County, promising fairness in the distribution of positions across Turkana in all County Government recruitment.

The Governor said he was working with President William Ruto to develop the county and solve problems including insecurity.

County Executive for Infrastructure Patrick Losike told residents of the administration's commitment to deliver on its election promises.

Lokichoggio MCA Vincent Ekipor said the Turkana leadership was united in support of the Governor's agenda to change the lives of residents and address challenges faced by the people of Turkana.

Turkana West Deputy Sub County Administrator Zachariah Etukon, and Lokichoggio Ward Admin Echip Obed were also present.
