10-man Nairobi City stars completed a brilliant comeback to upset Gor Mahia's three-match winning streak with a 2-1 Victory in an FKF KPL match played at Kenyatta stadium in Machakos on Monday afternoon.
K’Ogalo took an early lead courtesy of Lawrence Odhiambo who found the back of the net in the 23rd minute leading the match into the first half.
City stars came into the second half stronger dominating on possession and attacks but most of them turned off the target.
Robinson Asenwa leveled the score for City Stars at the hour's mark before Dennis Oalo sealed victory in the 68th minute.
Edwin Buliba received his marching orders in the 89th minute for City Stars.
This was City Stars' first win of the season after registering just two points in their opening five league matches.
Meanwhile, K'Ogalo failed to win their second successive match following their goalless draw against league leaders KCB in mid-week.
The win lifts City Stars to 17th position while Gor Mahia remain ninth although the Leonardo Leiva charges have three games in hand.
Gor Mahia will hope to bounce back in their weekend match against Murang'a SEAL on Saturday.
